Strategy Paper: For this option, students will develop a document that offers guidance, advice, and direction to an organization (educational, non-profit, private, or government agency) that will advance their goals. The paper will offer new ideas, tactics, and directions that you believe will increase the organization’s impact and improve outcomes related to environmental justice. The paper is unsolicited advice, but I encourage you to write it for a specific organization and to share it with a staff member upon completion. You are free to choose whatever organization you like, and you must base your writing on detailed research on the organization, their past and current work, and on the specific issue you are focused on. For example, you could write a strategy document that advises Merrimack College on how to incorporate environmental justice principles into its mission. Length of paper: 8-10 double-spaced pages, plus bibliography of at least five academic sources.
